Paul Beeson

Chief Executive Officer

Paul Beeson

Since 2011, Paul has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Perth Convention Bureau. Prior to this, as Director of Business Development, his work was instrumental in re-aligning PCB’s business methodology to deliver record business events outcomes for the social and economic benefit of all Western Australians.    

Paul's background lies in pharmaceutical and tourism sector brand management and marketing both nationally and internationally. Significant to this work was the development and management of ‘Brand WA’, State branding in 1997.

Deakin University Melbourne and post-graduate studies at The University of Western Australia, INSEAD Fontainebleau & Singapore campuses, Cambridge University, Harvard University Boston and Stanford University San Francisco have refined his corporate knowledge base.

Paul serves on the Advisory Board for the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University, and previously sat on the Boards of the Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation – Sail Training Ship Leeuwin II Fremantle and Rowing Western Australia.

Executive Assistant/Company Secretary

Liz Wessels

Liz has been with PCB for 12 years and provides executive operational support to PCB's Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, as well as undertaking Company Secretary responsibilities for the organisation. Liz enjoys all the varying aspects of her role which range from Board management, coordinating functions, overseeing information technology, strategic planning and risk management.

Away from the office she enjoys windsurfing, snow-skiing, playing tennis, cooking and snapping her camera at every opportunity!

Nicolle Davey

Executive Director Stakeholder Relations

Nicole Davey

Nicolle’s responsibilities at the Bureau include managing the relationship with our major partners and over two hundred active members, the Aspire Program which generates in excess of $30 million of leads per year, PCB's familiarisation program and national tradeshows. Nicolle has extensive experience in business development in the business events industry with over 13 years in the convention centre and hotel industry.

Nicolle enjoys travel and spending time on the weekends with her family and friends and at the beach.

Gareth Martin

General Manager and Executive Director Business Development

Gareth Martin

Gareth has overall responsibility for management of business development activities undertaken by PCB. He has previous experience in senior business development and corporate affairs roles within the pharmaceutical and resource sectors.

Gareth has travelled extensively but loves that Western Australia is home. He enjoys leisure time with his young family and getting out for a few waves when there's some surf.

Trish McKay

Executive Director Corporate Services

Trish McKay

Trish is responsible for Corporate Services - including managing PCB's finances and the human resource aspects of PCB such as payroll, staff training and development.

An industry all-rounder, Trish also brings a broad range of tourism and hospitality experience to her role having worked with PCOs and in hotels. Trish likes spending time with her family and travelling, aiming to see all Seven Wonders of the World.


Director Business Development - Associations

Becky Riley

As a member of the Business Development Team, Becky is responsible for developing bid strategies to secure national & international association conferences in WA. Having completed a Bachelor in Events Management she moved over to Perth from the UK in 2013 and has fallen in love with the many natural experiences our diverse state has to offer.

In her spare time Becky likes to spend her weekends enjoying a leisurely breakfast by the beach and soaking up the sunshine.

Senior Business Development Manager 

Amy Hallam

Amy joined the PCB team in December 2016 and is responsible for bidding and securing large scale international conferences. Amy has extensive business development skills and understanding of working with local, state and federal government. Amy has recently returned to her home town of Perth after living in China for six years, during this time she attained professional fluency in Mandarin.

Amy enjoys dancing and exploring Western Australia during the wildflower season.

Mitchel McCuish

Having moved to Perth in recent years from a regional WA country town, Mitchel completed a Diploma in Event Management graduating with a Certificate of Excellence in Events. Prior to joining PCB Mitchel had been working as an Event Technician doing Audio Visual and Lighting for Corporate Events. Mitchel enjoys spending his weekends exploring Perth bars and restaurants. 

Christine Parker

Christine Parker 

Christine is originally from Durban, South Africa and has lived in Perth for 14 years. She has a Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Events Management. With a passion for events and tourism her extensive and practical experience in business development has been influenced from working with international hotel brands in Perth, Western Australia and on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland. Also a member of the Business Development team, Christine is responsible for developing bid strategies to secure national & international association conferences in WA.

In her spare time Christine enjoys being active and checking out Perth’s ever growing Food and Wine scene and finding the best G&T’s out there.

Bridget Brown

Business Development Manager

Bridget Brown

Bridget joined PCB in the role of Business Development Manager while completing her Diploma of Events Management through North Metropolitan TAFE. She has completed certificates in Business, Retail/Hospitality and Events Management prior to Diploma and has experience in all three areas.

Bridget is well travelled and has visited several places in Western Australia. One of her most memorable WA experiences was travelling around Exmouth and visiting Turquoise Bay in the Cape Range National Park where she snorkeled with a variety of magnificent sea creatures. Bridget enjoys coaching rowing, spending time with her friends and family, and relaxing in the warm weather while enjoying a cocktail.

Hannah Beattie

Destination Marketing Coordinator 

Hannah Beattie

As the Destination Marketing Coordinator for the Bureau, Hannah assists the business development team with site inspections. She also liaises with clients who have confirmed national and international business events for WA, providing them with promotional material for their delegates.

Hannah started at Perth Convention Bureau after graduating from Murdoch University with a Bachelor degree in Public Relations and Journalism. In her spare time she enjoys taking her dog to the beach and travelling.

Clinton Barnes

Clinton Barnes

Clinton has over 15 years in the hotel industry, previously working in Events, Food & Beverage and Sales & Marketing. During his hospitality career, Clinton has experienced a hotel re-brand and hotel opening which brings him to a new challenge in tourism. With a Bachelor of Business, double major in Marketing and International Business, Clinton’s experience has lead him to join Perth Convention Bureau. Clinton’s key responsibility at the Bureau is to grow the C&I visitors to Perth, Western Australia. He enjoys family time and loves to watch sports. 

Jiaye Liu

Senior Business Development Manager - Corporate & Incentive

Jiaye Liu

Jiaye is responsible for growing the C&I visitors to Perth, Western Australia. Possessing extensive and practical business development experience from international hotel brands in Perth, Western Australia, and Singapore, Jiaye is passionate about building successful relationships with her clients and promoting Western Australia as a destination for business tourism. She graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Marketing.

In her spare time, Jiaye likes spending time with her family and uncovering Perth's multicultural food scene. 

Connie Ling

Connie Ling

Connie moved to Perth in 2016 with her family and she is originally from Shanghai, China. Before she joined PCB, Connie had worked for the local tourism bureau, Hong Kong Tourism Board for 6 years and also possesses extensive business development experience from international hotel brands in Shanghai and Western Australia. Her role in PCB is to grow the C & I visitors to Perth and Western Australia (WA) and she is passionate about promoting WA as a destination of business events.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring all corner and best food & wine scene of WA with her family.

Belinda Lo 

Sales Coordinator Corporate & Incentive

Belinda Lo

Belinda joins the bureau after graduating from UWA with a double major in Accounting and Economics. She has been living in Perth since 2010. Belinda previously worked in a tax firm assisting with individual tax returns. Belinda joined PCB because she would like to explore, experience and learn more about Perth and Western Australia. 

Belinda hopes to one day travel around the world and explore its beauty and mystery. She also likes to learn different languages. 

Danielle Mauro

Membership Manager

Danielle Mauro

Danielle is responsible for managing the relationship with PCB’s two hundred members, familiarisation programs and member networking events. Danielle joins PCB with a wide range of experience within the industry, having worked within five star hotels and conventions across Australia.

Danielle enjoys travelling within Australia and discovering Perth’s hidden treasures with her friends.

Sophia Okeby 2014

Communications Manager 

Sophia Okeby

Sophia joined the PCB team in June 2014 and supports the Stakeholder Relations department with trade shows, website content, producing PCB's newsletter and other communication activities. Sophia has marketing experience in the Industrial Services and Engineering industries. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Marketing at the University of Western Australia. Prior to joining PCB she spent a year teaching English in South Korea.

Sophia enjoys exploring Perth's growing culinary and cultural scene.


Accounts Administrator

Smiti Shah

Smiti joined the PCB team in 2014 and has many years of bookkeeping experience. Her background includes working for an Accounting Practice as well as various companies across different industries.

Smiti has lived in Perth for 25 years and says she would not live anywhere else! She likes to enjoy a good cup of coffee and a nice glass of wine, and one of the many reasons Smiti loves Perth is the Western Australian wineries and Perth’s close proximity to the beautiful South West region.
