Here’s some of the latest news:
Burswood Entertainment Complex
InterContinental Perth Burswood continues its multi-million dollar refurbishment project across all rooms, foyers and floors of the hotel, as well as the Atrium Buffet Restaurant and the glamourous Lobby Lounge.
The renowned Atrium Restaurant reopened in December 2010 offering guests a more theatrical dining experience and a range of cooking stations which include an Eastern and Western buffet selection, sushi, soup and salad bars and desserts guaranteed to satisfy every sugar craving imaginable.
The Lobby Lounge also reopened in December 2010 with a chic new look, plush lounges and a new bar menu, creating the perfect spot to meet over coffee and cakes, tapas or a delectable cocktail to start the evening off.
Neil Perry’s Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth opened on 24 January this year enjoying rave reviews and a flurry of bookings from Perth diners eager to sample the latest and most exciting restaurant venture to hit Perth; dining at Rockpool should not be missed.
Burswood's newest premium dining venue, Modo Mio Cucina Italiana, is set to open in early June 2011 once head chef Giampaolo Maffini arrives from Milan.
A set of new plush “high-roller” suites overlooking the pool area are also being built and many more phases of refurbishment to come.
Hyatt Regency Perth
The first stage of the Hyatt's most significant upgrade in its history is now complete.
Regency Club levels on floors 8 and 9 of the hotel now have been refurbished and guestrooms on floor 7 have been completely redesigned.
Stage two will see further enhancements to guestrooms that received a soft upgrade during stage one. Advances to public areas are included with the pool already finished.
Improvements to the lobby and corridors are also scheduled. All works are scheduled for completion in June 2011.
Holiday Inn at Burswood
Holiday Inn Perth Burswood has relaunched with a more stylish look and feel and has dramatically improved its guest experience by adding signature 'comfort' bedding and enhanced showers.
The upgrade is part of a global relaunch for Holiday Inn to create a new contemporary image for the brand. The new brand features now visible at Holiday Inn Burswood are a redesigned logo, improved signage, new outdoor lighting and landscaping and a redesigned lobby.
Pan Pacific Perth
Pan Pacific Perth opened its doors in Perth on 6 January this year, injecting revitalisation into Perth's hotel arena. On 21 March, the hotel unveiled the results of a $4.5 million Convention Level refurbishment to approximately 200 guests.
The upgrade to the Convention Floor encompassing 2120 sqm of meeting space includes the meeting rooms, pre-function areas and the distinguished Golden and Grand River Ballrooms.
Bold and contemporary decor including opulent black crystal chandeliers and artwork, custom-designed carpet, the latest audio visual technology will provide creative scope to suit all events.
Heading the Group's Australia operations is Nigel Roberts, who said "We see Australia as a key growth market for Pan Pacific Hotels Group because it has a resilient economy and strong inbound and domestic tourism. Hotel demand is strong with inbound tourism having held up in 2009 - with overall occupancy remaining close to unchanged from 2008."
Parmelia Hilton Perth
Located in the heart of the city, enjoy excellent shopping, vibrant nightlife or a stroll through beautiful Kings Park from the Parmelia Hilton Perth hotel. This central Perth hotel is next door to the Convention Centre and just 25 minutes drive from Perth International Airport.
All guestrooms at the Parmelia Hilton Perth now have new Hilton 'Serenity' beds, the latest electronic safes and new ergonomic desk chairs. In January the hotel opened its brand new gym with state-of-the-art gym equipment and in February pool area renovations were completed.
Rendezvous Observation City
Rendezvous Hotel Perth, Scarborough’s iconic beachside hotel, has been going through some exciting changes with new menus in the Pines Restaurant and around the hotel.
Following a $250,000 soft refurbishment, the main conference venues at Rendezvous Observation City are once again open for business. The Harbour Suite Ballroom - one of the two pillarless ballrooms in the hotel and the Ocean View Room have both had facelifts.
Over the next couple of months, Rendezvous Hotel Perth will commence works for further upgrades in our Plaza Club rooms and Suites to be able present to our valued guests a whole new luxurious Rendezvous.
Hotel Ibis Perth
Well located in the heart of Perth's West End, Ibis Perth sits just 300 metres from the Murray and Hay Street shopping malls. Featuring 192 comfortable rooms the Ibis Perth is the ultimate hotel for business travel.
The Ibis Perth opened as Princes Hotel back in 1985 and is set to reveal a full makeover of its rooms.
"It's a revolution in economy hotel accommodation for Perth," says Accor's Regional Manager for Western Australia, Llewellyn Wyeth.
Features of the refurbishment include brand new LCD televisions, iPod docking stations in every room, brand new bathrooms and beds, fixtures and fittings. Plans are also in place to remake the hotel lobby and one of the function rooms during mid 2011.
The Goodearth and Perth Ambassador Hotels
The Goodearth Hotel has unveiled the first stage of an extensive refurbishment with 70 guest rooms completed. Rooms are undergoing a complete makeover providing a modern mid-range option to convention visitors. The refurbishment includes upgraded kitchenettes and bathrooms, new flat screen televisions with free in-house movies, new carpets, sleek modern furniture, bedding and artwork.
The Perth Ambassador Hotel is in the process of installing new beds and flat screen TVs in all rooms, as well as painting the exterior of the hotel in a dual tone colour scheme. The bedding is also being replaced with crisp white linen and rooms now offer cable television, free in-house movies and free broadband internet.
Duxton Hotel
The Duxton Hotel, located at No. 1 St Georges Terrace has been a successful 5 star hotel in the city centre of Perth since opening its doors in October 1996. All 306 rooms have undergone a soft refurbishment, along with the fourteen accommodation floors. The project is the hotel's biggest upgrade program since its opening.
Works commenced in September 2010, when the Hotel’s Lobby Bar was given a fresh new look. The “facelift” focused on introducing bright, funky colours into this popular meeting place with modern chairs, and high glass top tables with stools to match. New carpet will be laid late 2011 to complete the enhancement to the hotel’s popular Lobby Bar.
Plans are now in place to give the Club Lounge on the top floor of the hotel a full refurbishment, along with the Presidential Suite. The new look Club Lounge will complement the Club Rooms and Suites, and guests staying in these room types will be pleasantly surprised. These projects will be completed by the end of June 2011.
The hotel’s function rooms have not been forgotten. Drop down screens and ceiling mounted data projectors have been installed in the Ballroom, and Duxton 2,3 and 4 on the Lower Lobby Level, and electronic signage will be in place by the end of the year. The final stage of the refurbishment program will include some delightful enhancements to the stunning and elegant lobby.
Metro Hotel
Metro Hotels has just completed the first stage of their $6 million renovation and refurbishment of its Perth icon, Metro Hotel Perth. Having upgraded the guest rooms and the conference/function areas, stage two will commence mid 2011. This will see another $10million spent on extending the hotel with the addition of a further 46 guest rooms. In addition to this they will be adding a new kitchen and refurbishing the reception, bar and restaurant areas.
Parmelia commits to carbon offsets
Parmelia Hilton Perth has become one of seven Hilton hotels in Australia to participate in a new sustainable meetings program.
The program will see the hotel commit to reducing its energy consumption, CO2 emissions and waste by 20 percent and water consumption by 10 percent.
Also as part of the program, meetings and events held at the Parmelia will be offset at no additional cost to organisers.
