TEAM AUSTRALIAN ASSOCIATIONS PROJECT (TAAP)

TEAM AUSTRALIAN ASSOCIATION PROJECT - FACT SHEET

The Team Australian Association Project is a three year $1.8 million joint initiative between Tourism Australia, the Australian Association of Convention Bureaux (AACB) and major convention Bureaux and Centres across Australia.

Association events bring economic benefits through the high yield tourism spend of international delegates, highlight Australia's position on the world stage and deliver world's best practice to Australia in terms of knowledge transfer, global networking and trade.   The sector generates global expenditure of over $12 billion through 7,500 events held each year.  Australia currently attracts around 2.5 percent of global business.

PCB was a founding member of the forerunner to this project - Conventions Australia Alliance - and is committed to the TAAP project over the next three years.

The TAAP project was launched on Monday 1 March 2010 at the AIME Tradeshow held in Melbourne and the media release and fact sheet can be viewed at these respective links.
