Perth Convention Bureau (PCB) works closely with Tourism Western Australia to promote Perth and Western Australia as a convention destination.
Tourism WA is the State Government department responsible for promoting the State of Western Australia as an attractive holiday, event, convention and incentive travel destination, nationally and overseas.
PCB operates under a five year (2007-12) $17 million agreement with Tourism WA which provides almost 75% of the Bureau’s funding to fulfil the State Government’s charter for convention and incentive travel.
This funding allows PCB to offer financial incentives to associations to bring their conferences to Western Australia which continues to be a compelling factor in our success in securing both national and international conventions.
Funding provided by Tourism WA is boosted by contributions from the private sector in the form of membership subscriptions and cooperative marketing activities.
A Tourism WA Board member is appointed to the Board of PCB as Tourism WA’s representative on an ongoing basis.
